How long can I access the online version of the books?

1 year or when you have passed the RES exam, whichever is earlier. After the 1-year deadline, your account will automatically be terminated. There is NO auto-charge and NO auto-renewal after the deadline. You may purchase it again after the deadline.

Why is there a deadline of 1 year?

Most of the students are able to pass the exam within 1 year if there were to practice these questions diligently at least 3 times with understanding. Lucas can grant you an extension beyond the 1 year on a case-to-case basis if you can show him proof of CEA's email that you are not shortlisted for the exam for the past 1 year.

If I failed the exam for the past 1 year, can I request for an extension?

No. You can purchase it again provided you are still taking the RES exam.

Can I convert the online version that I have purchased to the physical copy subsequently?

If I already have the physical book, can I have the online version for free or give a discount?

No. You have to make the purchase again (no discount). They are under different accounts.

Is the online version based on the latest exam format?

Yes. 

​

How often do you update the online version?

Within 3 days from the date of announcement of the change of the laws, policies, and regulations.

Will we be notified of the change?

No. But we will indicate the questions that we have changed on the webpage after you have logged in.

Are the questions on the online version the same as the physical books? 

Yes, they are the same for now. The online version is similar to the latest print of the physical books for now. Mdm Celeste Ng may add more questions or redesign some questions to make them longer for the Online Version in the future.

Why don't you display the answer immediately after I have attempted each question?

In the exam, the answers are NOT displayed to you after you have attempted each question too. Do the practice questions as if you are taking the exam. Check your answers after you have completed say 100 questions and see how you score. The passing mark is 60/100.

I understand there is a FAQ to get explanations for some difficult questions for the physical books. Am I able to access the same FAQ if I were to get the online version?

Yes. You are able to see now to access the FAQ at the bottom of the page after logging in.

If I have passed the exam before the one year is up, can I transfer my account to my friend?

No.

Can I share the account with my friends?

No. Strictly no sharing of accounts. The system will log you out permanently if it detects more than one log-in at the same time. You will have to pay the full price again if you wish to re-access it. 

​

If I didn't manage to pass the exam within one year from the date of purchase of the online version, can I extend the online access?

No. The system will automatically remove your account after 1 year. You can repurchase it again. If you think that you wish to have it for more than 1 year, you may choose to purchase the physical books instead. We develop this online version for the convenience of students who wish to attempt the questions on the move without having to carry the physical books. Most students aim to pass the exam within 1 year.
